Cedric Taling
Born in 1976, Cédric Taling is a Parisian artist whose work underlines human drifts quite strongly.
He took his first painting class at the age of 12, but he chose to study web design at the school "Boulle" and then in Valenciennes. Nevertheless, he never stopped painting.
He started his professional life in audiovisual fields, as an illustrator and productor of animated movies until 2007 when the Brugier-Rigail gallery discovered him. He was then considered to be as one of the rising hopes of French contemporary art. The artist is a powerful alchemist of modern graphic styles: He borrows from Pop art, feeds from mangas, creates his canvases like comic books and uses the cultural references of teenagers from yesterday and today. He gives his masterpieces a realism that can be scary, but fair. He brings back the memory of the super-heroes of the 80s through his colorful masterpieces, and mixes them with a psychedelic vision of society. The artist says that he is a product of the omnipotence Asia/USA, just in the middle, at both a geographical an cultural level. Many galleries in Europe exhibit his work, which is linked to the great names of figuration, such as Erro, Robert Combas, Speedy Graphito...
