After more than two decades, the gallery is entering a new phase of evolution. In this new chapter, Laurent Rigail continues to lead the gallery independently, which now becomes Galerie Laurent Rigail. This transition follows a natural continuity, remaining true to the spirit that has animated the gallery since his meeting with Éric Brugier in 2001: the promotion of committed contemporary artists, the conscientious support of collectors, and an active presence on the art scene through fairs, exhibitions, and cultural projects.
A collector before becoming a gallerist, Laurent Rigail advocates a sincere and demanding approach to art. He upholds a strong and clearly defined artistic vision, shaped by personal convictions, favoring meaningful works and artists who are engaged, distinctive, and full of energy. His perspective, forged through more than two decades of experience, continues to guide the gallery with coherence and boldness.
Originally founded under the name Galerie Brugier-Rigail, the gallery established itself within the contemporary art landscape through a strong aesthetic identity, at the crossroads of urban and contemporary art scenes. This direction was notably built around pioneers of urban art active since the 1980s, such as Miss Tic, Speedy Graphito, Jérôme Mesnager, Robert Combas, and Guy Denning, as well as major international figures including Shepard Fairey, JonOne, and John Matos Crash.
At the same time, the gallery has always paid close attention to emerging generations of artists, supporting at an early stage talents who are now widely recognized, such as Levalet, MadC, L’Atlas, Monkeybird, and M. Chat. This commitment to dialogue between historical figures and emerging scenes remains at the heart of Laurent Rigail’s project.
Beyond its artistic programming, Galerie Laurent Rigail stands out for its personalized support of collectors, grounded in expertise, experience, and a clearly asserted ethical transparency. Trust-based relationships, education, and tailored advice form essential pillars of its operation.
This new phase thus marks a natural evolution of the gallery, respecting its heritage while embracing renewed ambition. Laurent Rigail intends to continue and deepen the artistic project that has shaped the gallery’s distinct identity and reputation for over twenty years.
The gallery is a member of the Comité des galeries d’art.
