Anthony Lister

Australian artist Anthony Lister was born in Brisbane in 1979. He distinguished himself in contemporary painting and installations, merging in his work what he considers the “best” and “worst” images of our culture. Using charcoal, acrylic, oil and spray paint, Lister produces works in which heroes and villains parade, encouraging the viewer to explore several points of view without only considering what our culture sees as “good” and “evil”.

Anthony Lister studied in Queensland College of Art. Then, he exhibited his work in all Australia. His famousness spread all around the world and the artist participated in the US, in Canada, in Germany, in France, in Portugal and in Japan. Some of his works are included in the collections of prestigious institutions like Australia's National Gallery, Berlin's Urban Nation Museum, the David Roberts Collection or Australia's Art Bank.

Lister is now one of the most famous international street-artists.

Mêlant fusain, peinture aérosol et peinture à l'huile, Lister élabore des œuvres où paradent les héros comme les méchants, encourageant ainsi le spectateur à explorer les différents points de vue sans se contenter de ce que notre culture veut nous inculquer du « bien » et du « mal ».

Anthony Lister a étudié au Queensland College of Art avant de voir son travail exposé dans toute l'Australie. Sa renommée s'étend dans le monde entier et bientôt l'artiste participe à des expositions aux États-Unis, au Canada, en Allemagne, en France, en Italie, au Portugal et au Japon. Ses œuvres vont également faire leur entrée dans de prestigieuses institutions telle que la National Gallery d'Australie, les Collections of Urban Nation Museum de Berlin, la David Roberts Collection ou encore la Art Bank Australia.

Il incarne aujourd'hui une des plus grandes figures de la scène street art internationale.
